Case Study : Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects

Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects is an award-winning architecture studio based in Ferndale, Michigan, working across residential, adaptive reuse, sports architecture, and civic and cultural projects.

Led by principals and founding partners Jonathan Disbrow and David Iannuzzi, the firm was named to Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Top 200 Residential Architects in October 2024.

Challenge

Despite national recognition and a growing portfolio, the partners wanted to build more awareness around their practice, attract aligned residential and commercial projects, and see whether search could become a meaningful source of higher-quality project inquiries beyond their existing network.

Approach

We worked closely with the partners to better understand the studio’s expertise, prior experience, and the types of projects they wanted more of moving forward. Our conversations focused on project fit, geography, ideal clients, and minimum construction budgets.

From there, we developed a website and search strategy designed to build on the studio’s existing body of work, recognition, and expertise. Over the first year of our engagement, we launched or updated 92 pages across projects, awards, press, announcements, and editorial content.

Results

Within the first year of our engagement, Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects secured three new residential and hospitality projects from clients who cited search as how they discovered the studio.

During the same period, monthly organic sessions increased from approximately 160 to more than 650, while organic pageviews grew from roughly 700 to over 2,900 per month. This suggested that more people were not only discovering the studio through search but also spending more time engaging with their work online.

In turn, both search and the studio’s website became more active parts of their business development strategy, complementing referrals, press, and existing relationships.
