Case Study : The Pottery

The Pottery is a Toronto-based pottery studio offering classes, workshops, and handmade ceramics.

In October 2020, The Pottery approached Tiny House Digital through the Digital Main Street program after redesigning their website.

Their goal was to be found by more people in Toronto and increase bookings for pottery lessons and workshops, particularly for kids’ programs, corporate team events, and adult classes.

We worked with The Pottery on a 90-day engagement to increase bookings for pottery classes and workshops through local search.

Part of the project involved addressing gaps following the website redesign, including missing title tags, H1s, schema markup, and Open Graph tags to support search visibility and social sharing.

We wrote and edited copy for over 40 pages, including the homepage, service pages (such as kids’ programs, corporate programs, and adult pottery classes), and their e-commerce store.

Throughout the site, we placed strong emphasis on internal linking to better connect pages and guide users to book lessons and workshops.

Results

Within a year of the engagement, organic traffic grew from roughly 300 visitors per month to over 2,000.

Improved rankings for searches related to pottery lessons and workshops in Toronto and its neighbourhoods drove this growth, with The Pottery consistently appearing near the top of search results by the end of 2021.
